My favorite fall weeknight meal: crockpot chicken and stuffing

It's getting so close to that cozy time of year! Even though it's still hot here you can still feel fall in the air. This crockpot meal is my most favorite. It just makes me feel like watching "The great pumpkin", making some apple cider and putting on a comfy sweater.  Fall is like the starting of the magical season....and, I'm ready for some plaids (and football).

Easy peasy recipe in 3,2,1....

Ingredients:

2 lbs (about 4 chicken breast)
1 (6oz) box of stuffing mix
1 (10.5 oz) can cream of chicken condensed soup
3/4 cup sour cream
1/3 cup water

Directions:
1. Lightly spray your crockpot and place chicken breasts on bottom. (I cut mine up into strips)
2. Pour stuffing onto the chicken.
3. Mix soup, sour cream and water together in separate bowl. Pour over chicken and stuffing.
4. Cook on high about 4 hours depending on your crockpot...
** you can add green beans onto the top of this, but I don't prefer it that way. I always just make a side of green beans and cornbread muffins to go with it.

I have never tried turkey with this, but I bet it would be fantastic! I may have to try that next!
Enjoy!

They make a Wi-Fi crockpot!!! Look at that beauty!!!

READ THIS BOOK!!!!BUY THIS BOOK!!!!GO NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I could convince you to buy and read a book, this would be it! Go ahead and do yourself a favor and order #2 as well. This is the kind of book that really captivates the mind! It was easy to envision the scenery-the palace, the clothing, Shahrzad herself.  The author forces you to feel the emotions-the hate, the betrayal, the longing, the confusion, the love. The book was a delicacy... You want to enjoy it for as long as possible, but can't help but gobble it up. I haven't felt this way about a book in a long time....I'm not going to say I've been in a rut, but I haven't read anything I just want to recommend to the world either. This book just blows everything I have read lately out of the water. It's in a league of it's own. Have I persuaded you to try it out yet????!!!!??!?!?!?

Brief Plot: (trying not to give too much away)

There is a King, Khalid, whom everyone views as pure evil. He marries a girl each night and kills her by the next dawn. No one knows why. He is just assumed to be a tyrant. His next bride will be Shahrzad or Shazi for short. She, to much confusion, volunteers herself. Shazi vows to herself she will serve venegence for all the girls slain-her friend Shiva especially.  But, she has to survive the night first. Without divulging too much, Shazi eventually begins to see there is more than meets the eye when it comes to Khalid. Even though he is a monster, there may be something redeeming in him and a reason behind his madness.

Tariq has loved Shazi since they were kids. He refuses to let her die at the hands of a lunatic king. He is determined to save her, to stop him. He will move mountains for Shazi. Only, where does one begin a revolt?

Ahhhhh!!!!  Just typing about this one, makes me want to go back and re-read it! Yes, it's that good!!!! I don't think I can do it justice.

I can't be the only one who read Shahrzad as Charizard can i?!?!?!?!? LOL

Anna dressed in blood review

I am giving tins 4 stars wholeheartedly knowing that this is not for everyone. That being said, I didn't really think it was going to be for me (sorry bookers) but I was dramatically suprised at how much I ended up liking it.

I feel like hard-core horror fans will not be as impressed. They will want more. This was like a gateway book... on to more scary things. This is good for people like me.... cowardly readers, not saying it doesn't have some freaky moments, but nothing really frightened me. This author has a way of writing that is so pleasant to read, even when something terrible was going on I just had to keep reading. Kendare Blake is an author I would definitely read more of.

The plot:
Cas is a ghost-hunter, a ghost-killer really. He comes in with his fancy knife and sends them to wherever it is that they go. He is one of the only people who can do this, it's in his blood. His latest assignment leads him to Anna. She is a frightening ghost who kills anyone who enters her house. Cas is an exception, she knows he wants to kill her, yet she can't bring herself to harm him. The build a relationship, albiet weird and complicated. In the end, Cas' family history has came back with a deadly agenda. It's going to take all Cas' abilities, along with a little help from his friends to hopefully defeat this creature for once and all.

4 stars

If this even somewhat interests you, I'd definitely say go out and get this one!!! This is the kind of book that makes me love the Young-Adult genre. Fantasic storyline and fantasic story-telling. It doesn't get much better than this!

Sausage muffins

I highly recommend this method of sausage muffins for those of you who like sausage balls, but don't dig the quishing! I think I've found a new potluck food! Easy!

Unravel me

"He has a hundred thousand million kisses and he's giving them all to me."

..."He's leaving a trail of fire along my torso, one kiss after another, and I really don't think i can take much more of this; I really don't think I can survive this. There's a whimper building in my throat, begging to break free and I'm locking my fingers in his hair and I'm pulling him up, onto me, on top of me
I need to kiss him."

Yep, this one's pretty steamy friends.

Spoilers from now on:

I always root for the "wrong" guy, the "bad" guy. I can't help myself. I thought these books were going to be different. I was all gung-ho for Adam after the last book and I was on board the I-Hate-Warner train. But, Hot-Damn! This book completey flipped my switch. I adore Adam, but his and Juliette's "love" scenes are NOTHING compared to what just went down with her and Warner. And, No, I don't think it's all physical. He can quote her journal like it's the Bible or something. He is intense with his feelings, he actually lets himself beocome vulnerable to her.

Whew. I don't know how I feel about the end of this one. There are so many possibilities. Juliette seems to be darker..... And, Kenji.... Something is off with him.....

Can't wait for #3.

Team Warner. (for now, let's see what you're made of Adam!)

Shatter me

Holy Smokes Batman, this was good!!!!

Some
Spoilers ahead:

Juliette is not like everyone else. Her touch can be deadly. She hates this about herself. She is trapped in a prison cell alone for about a year until one day she gets a new cellmate, Adam. He is so familiar to her, yet she tries to block out all her memories. They are too devasting, from parents who hated her and kids calling her names to the accident that everyone thinks she did on purpose. She doesn't want to be the way she is, she hates it. But, not everyone thinks being able to touch and kill people is a bad thing. Is Adam with or against her? Can she ever survive anywhere but isolation. Is she destined to be alone the rest of her life?

#1: I adore Adam. At first I was scared he was tricking her, but now I just Swoon over him. He has some of the best book lines ever as far as talking to a girl!!!
#2: I feel soooo sorry for Juliette and everyone in this messed up world. Especially the orphans!
#3: I hate Warner and seriously want him to just go away!
#4: Just let Adam and Juliette have sex already!!!! ;)
#5: The end really went x-menish to me, not neccessarily a bad thing, but I do think she could have been a little more original on everyone's super powers....
#6: The crossing out thing got old super fast, I was glad it slowed down toward the middle-end.
#7: After finishing this I really wanted to read more! That's awesome
Tahereh Mafi!

Bottomline: This is a solid and good YA dystopian story. I highy suggest you read this one! It is not one to miss!!!

After the end book review

This was not what I was expecting...Granted, I didn't have much to go on. I just assumed from the title "After the End", this was going to be some kind of post-apocalyptic survival tale.
Not so much.

Can you imagine basically being lied to your entire existence? This poor girl, Juneau, has been told her whole life that there was a WWIII and her clan was some of the only survivors.  They were relocated to Alaska to live their lives confined to a pre-determined area and told not to go beyond because there could be raiders looking to steal their resources. Only after her entire clan is kidnapped does Juneau realize she has been lied to. She is left alone. She must try to "save" her clan. But, how does one survive in this modern world when all you know is your commune's ways?

I did enjoy this one. Some of the beginning conversations between Miles and Juneau are almost painful. They are just such an awkward and unlikely team. But, somewhere midway through, the author seems to hit her stride and they become a pair to cheer for.  Miles' voice, for me, lacked something....I can't put my finger on it.

Somewhere about halfway through this, I thought "there is no way this is going to wrap up" and i was most definitely correct. This ended up on a huge cliffy. I am left with so many questions and wanting the next installment NOW!!!!

I do suggest this one. I think you have to push through the first 100 pages, the getting to know you stages, but after that this story is great! I'm excited to see where this is heading.

3.75 out of 5 stars.

Anna and the french kiss review

Sooo, I am undeniably jealous of Anna!!! Paris! A cute English/American Boy with an Accent! Did I mention Paris?!?!?!

Ahhh, the city of romance. Love is building up the entire time while reading this one. It's a bit teen angst, love you-hate you, We're just friends, I've got to have you.

Summary: Anna has been shipped off to Paris to finish out her last year of high School. She is from Atlanta (Hotlanta, representin') a pretty southern(but not too twangy to the point of cheesyness)normal teenage girl. She is swooning over Topher, her hometown crush when she is flying over the ocean. Once landing in Frace she spots St. Clair and nothing is the same after that first meeting. He enters her mind. They become friends. He has a girlfriend, his mother has cancer, he's scared of change. They spend a considerable amount of time togehter (I'd be super jealous if I was his girlfriend). They develop a friendship. They get each other. They are in love.... but will they ever act on it?!?!?

Holy Shitake Mushrooms!!! I adored this little love story. It was just too cute. Swoonworthy, gobble-fest worthy. When I couldn't be reading, I was wishing I was! The characters were so very enjoyable. They all had little side-stories, but nothing too distracting.

4.0 stars + St. Clair= 4.5 stars

Appropriate for the Young Adult age group, no sex- scenes, I'd say 13 and up.

Music is good for the soul

Click here if video wont play
I get such a peace and relaxation from playing the piano. I am so glad my mom "made" me go to lessons all those years ago. I've been playing for about 25 out of my 31 years. I can play all kinds of genres, but hymns are probably my favorite. They are like a comfort food for me; I can improvise and add to them, I don't have to be perfect when playing a hymn and I obviously associate them with church. Jesus=peace, so it adds up to me.

Some may shy away from talking about religion, but Jesus is such a huge part of who I am, I don't think I could just turn that part off-or turn my back on him.

Anyone have a favorite hymn? Requests?
Just be prepared, there will probably be a rugrat hitting the keys or giggling in the background. πŸ˜›

Love to all.✌✌ ❤❤🎢🎢

Such a rush

I have to admit that I only wanted to read this because I fell in cover-lust. Then, when I saw it was about airplanes I sort of backed away and didn't think I would be in love. But, Mrs. Echols intruiged me from the very beginning.

And, I have to add this book was perfect for reading over the weekend, while lounging in the pool and looking at these huge, fluffy, white clouds..........

There was just something so real about these characters.
Leah: Struggled with being poor, with growing up in a trailer park, with having a very absent mother. She had trouble figuring out exactly who she was supposed to be, but she had her sights set on becoming a pilot. Leah was annoying at times, but I felt for her. She was a complex and thought proviking character for me.

Grayson: Struggled with the death of his brother and Father, with the thought of his only other brother leaving, with maintaining his Father's business, with his feelings for Leah.

Alec: We don't get to know him as well, but some information given to us later in the story really gave some insight on the questions I had. He is also going through the ache of losing 2 of his family members and trying to figure out what to do with his life. He seems so easy going and polite, but he has a lot going on behind his cool demeanor.

Molly: The most annoying rich best-fried on Leah got on my nerves. She has a big mouth and feelings for someone that she should have just been honest about in the beginning.

Honesty. A simple little word that these characters needed to use. They all mostly had good intentions, but some kind of backwards ways of showing they care.

Swoon over Grayson with me and read this one.
Root for the Rags-to-Riches, stubborn, goal-oriented Leah and read this one.

4 stars

definitely curious about this author.

The elite review

Stay with me here for a minute....
My favorite shows consist of:
TrueBlood
Vampire Diaries
Big Bang Theory
The Tudors
Game of Thrones
Californication
That 70's Show
Cougar Town

What I'm getting at is no where (not even near the bottom rung) is there any reality shows on my list. I do not watch the Bachelor. I do not watch American Idol. Heck, I don't really even get into The Voice.
I'm stating this because I want everyone to know that these books are not my usual cup of tea, but there is something so compelling in them, that I can't help but gobble them up!

In this book, there are only 6 girls left fighting for the right to become a one and wear the Maxon's matching crown.

Some Spoilers from here on:

I have rooted for Maxon pretty much the whole time! Until, that horrid moment with Celeste! I really wanted to punch her IN THA FACE !!!!
Even after he revealed his horrid little secret to America, I still didn't have as much sympathy for him as I probably should have. I get that his situation kind of sucks, but that girl is Awful! I think in most cases, I would be rooting for Aspen, but for some reason this go round, I can't really root for him either.
In the beginning of this one, I pretty much thought America had this one in the bag. But, I have to admit I am worried. I can't help but wonder what Maxon's intentions are. Is he really a meanie??

All-in-all, I just wish America would make up her mind! I think she might have at the end of this one, but knowing her she will probably flip-flop again. I'm a bit annoyed with her, yet she fascinates me as a character.

4 stars.

Cover lust: the selection

What is it about this book that makes so many people hate it? What about it has made for such mixed reviews.

I.Don't.Know.

I.Loved.It. it

I have to first start off and say that I 100% despise the television show 'The Bachelor', so when this started off with Bachelor with Royalty vibe I was worried. But, something about this world Kiera Cass has created just sucked me in. It was magical.  And, don't even get me started on the cover- it is most definitely a personal favorite!

So what is this book about? In a nutshell it's about a Prince searching for love and a girl who gets swept up in The Selection and doesn't know where her heart is headed. Can she ever love this Prince? Does he even really care for her? Can she ever get over her first love? Does he really love her in return.

This girl needs a little self-esteem in the love department.... But, doesn't young love do that to us all? Leave us guessing? Leave us on our toes?

Fantastic 1st book. 4 very deserving stars. 1 very tired Kristy (I just marathon read this Beeoch!)
